Sport Relief with NSR

Back To News >>

With all the antics going on at the weekend for Sport Relief it was no surprise to find NSR Communications right in the thick of it.  Working with Limelight Sports, NSR were on hand to ensure everything ran smoothly for the 1 mile charity run from Horse Guards Parade, up The Mall to Buckingham Palace and back to Admiralty Arch.

NSR provided the sound equipment for the stage area and screen in Horse Guards Parade as well as the start and finish lines.  In addition to this NSR installed a system that covered the lead up to the Victoria Memorial outside Buckingham Palace and back down The Mall; a speaker line distance of 450 metres.  The sound equipment for the stage, positioned in the assembly area facing the start line, featured the new EAW JFL210 Line Array speakers, which were situated on two towers flanking the stage, four on each side.  In front of the stage eight EAW SB1000 bass cabinets were used, all driven by Lab Gruppen amplifiers.

In amongst the performers on the main stage were the amazing cast from STOMP, the London Community Gospel Choir and the street dance group, Flawless, providing the runners with some first class entertainment before they set off for the finish line.

The entertainment didn’t stop there though, as NSR supplied an additional PA system for the demonstration area, next to Admiralty Arch, which provided audio enhancement for performances from the English Basketball team, the London Bollywood Dancers and the British Paraplegic Fencing team, to name but a few.  The speaker line up for the demo stage consisted of four EV speakers with a Dynacord powered mixer.

In addition to the PA Systems NSR provided a two tier production control unit, a single tier unit for security plus megaphones for the stewards to assist them with crowd control.

It was a great day for everyone involved.
